Things To Do

We are situated within North Devon but very close to North Cornwall, with so many spectacular places to visit and explore. You will find lots of maps and tourist information in your cottage but listed here are just a few highlights and links to help you on your way.

The Great Outdoors

Go to www.visitdevon.co.uk then click the link for North Devon and Exmoor. This is a good place to start exploring.

Beaches - North Devon and Cornwall have so much to offer. We often visit Bude, Widemouth, Sandymouth, Duckpool all in Cornwall, and Northam Burrows near Westward Ho!, Bucks Mills and Saunton Sands in Devon but you will find your favourite. You may want to think about booking  a surf lesson.  Remember to check out tide times.

Dartmoor - Wild open moorlands and deep river valleys, with a rich history and rare wildlife await you at Dartmoor National Park. There are many paths and walks available for all levels of fitness. www.dartmoor.gov.uk

Exmoor - A unique landscape of moorland, woodland, valleys and farmland, shaped by people over thousands of years. www.exmoor-nationalpark.gov.uk

Family Attractions

The Big Sheep - One of North Devon’s leading (all weather) attractions - watch sheepdog trials and sheep races, learn about breeds of sheep and shearing processes, and bottle feed the lambs! www.thebigsheep.co.uk

The Milky Way - Family day out whatever the weather with four major rides and six live shows everyday. www.themilkyway.co.uk

Cobbaton Combat Collection - “A hobby which got out of hand”. A military museum has collections covering mostly World War Two, but with exhibits from the Boer War up to the First Gulf War. www.cobbatoncombat.co.uk

Please consult websites for current opening times and Covid 19 Advice. Some attractions require pre-booking to limit numbers and some food outlets may still be closed.
